Vagator & Chapora
Situated in northernmost beach, Vagator & Chapora is dominated by the magnificient Chapora Fort at its northern end and bordered by Anjuna Beach to the south.
These beaches are much more beautiful than world famous Anjuna beach with soft white sands, the black lava rocks. Bollywood directors Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Farhan Akhtar also shot their phone and capture its beauty in their cameras. Vagator is split into two main beaches by a seaside headland, which holds the car park and lots of selling stalls. Besides, you can enjoy the fresh water springs at North Vagator Beach, past the rocks where the beach seems to end. The spring is at the foot of the hill, around 100 m from the beach. Further, south from Ozrant is an impessive stone face of Lord Shiva, carved into a seaside boulder by an unknown sculpture from the hippie era. Vagator and Chapora are rich with rural life. Chapora is a fishing village. So a large number of fishermen in their traditional attire can be seen.
Tips
North Vagator Beach is safe for swimming though Ozrant is not, as the rocks here creates an unpredictable undertow. But, the facility of lifeguard is available at Vagator.
