Miramar
The Miramar Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches of Goa, is on the way to Dona Paula,
1-km ahead of the confluence of the Arabian Sea and Mandovi River. It comprises a massive spread of sand west of Panjim. This Goan beach is popularly known as "Gasper Dias".
The name of the beach is derived from a Portuguese word that stands for viewing the sea. It's location make it ideal for evening walks. The coast covers an expanse of 2-km. The beach has a fine silvery sand bed, and a very panoramic view across the Mandovi river.
From this beach your can also enjoy the great view of the Raj Bhavan, which is illuminated at night. The best time to visit the Miramar Beach is from November to March when the place is crowed every evening and especially on Sundays.
You will find a number of stalls selling spicy India ‘Chaat’ and ‘Bhel’ at the beachside. Dig in if you have an experimental streak. Arrangements for shopping, accommodation, sightseeing, tourist destinations or seeing the festive hues of the local Konkani fishermen are also available here.
Tips
This is a safe beach except the area near the Mandovi River. So, ensure that you enter water at least 300m away from the river and don’t go very near the river.
