White Negro Beach Resort

Ideally located a stone's throw away from the beach, this splendid beach resort with a bar and restaurant at Anjuna, North Goa is set amidst a typical Goan coastal village. Safely tucked away from the dust, noise and grind of the main road and within walking distance of the famous flea market, this salubrious place is a nice way to let your hair down and savour the delight of this mystic land called Anjuna 
 
Spread out over 1500 square metres of verdant lawns and white sand strewn with rocks, the octagonal-shaped White Negro bar and restaurant caters to most gastronomic palates - Continental, Chinese, Italian, Indian, et al. The menu features a wide array of fish foods including luscious lobsters, king size tiger prawns, deep-fried kingfish, Mussels Sizzler, etc. With local fishermen bringing in their freshly nabbed catch, it is not difficult to see why the fish food is a roaring success.

The restaurant also serves an assortment of beef and chicken dishes, all moderately priced. For those who rise early to enjoy the delight of the rising sun, breakfast is also available. An average meal for two starter, main course and dessert - costs approximately Rs.300/-(US$10). Barbecues are organised every Sunday night with an exotic range of meats and seafood. Catering for parties organised within the premises is an additional feature.

The well-stocked bar has something for every mood - from mild wines and fiery local feni and Vodka to heady cocktails. The restaurant is open from 8 a.m. right through the day to 11 p.m.

The White Negro Beach Resort has come a long way. Starting out in the inaugural year 1986 with a modest four-room accommodation, it now sports fourteen well-maintained and clean rooms. Averaging 5.5 x 4.5 sq.metres, each self-contained room consists of black and white tiles, a ceiling fan, two single beds and an attached bath/ W.C., with 24 hour running water and hot/cold shower. Extra facility of mosquito nets at no extra cost is also provided to keep the ubiquitous mosquito at bay

 
To ensure that you do not have to spend the night on the streets, advance reservation is recommended. Mode of payment can be settled on arrival.

The thickset proprietor, Mr Cyril D'Souza, a Nairobi-returnee, runs White Negro with a firm yet gentle hand. A stickler for perfection, Mr.D'Souza personally keeps a hawks eye for cleanliness both in the kitchen as well as the resort.
White Negro, an oasis of cleanliness, caters to the middle income group. Overall White Negro is as rare as its name suggests.
